The Tucson Vista necklace was featured on the cover of Beadwork magazine's August/September 2017 issue. Though I have the original on display, I have since created a second piece to show and sell. I love the color palette in this piece so much, I created a collection around it called Southwest Sunset.
This necklace is made of Swarovski crystals that are held in place by the tension of the bead weaving around them. The Czech glass beads used in this piece are matte metallic purple, blue, bronze, and gold. There are accents of gold and gunmetal in the Japanese seed beads as well.
The whole piece is hand-stitched, including the "chain" at the back. The Tucson Vista necklace is meant to be a statement piece, worn at choker length. It is about 15 inches in length and has a gunmetal toggle clasp for closure. The width varies from about 2 inches down to half an inch.
